CeTeau (Thailand) Co. Ltd. second donation to GTE Laboratory

23 November 2023: AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto and Mr. Nuttapong Kavittayanun, Managing Director of CeTeau (Thailand) Co. Ltd. came together to sign the second donation agreement towards the upgrading of AIT’s Geotechnical & Earth Resources Engineering (GTE) Laboratory. This contribution will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the future research development and enhance the quality of education for our AIT students.

Mr. Sanjeev Jayasinghe, the Executive Director of Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs warmly welcomed Mr. Nuttapong Kavittayanun and his team to the signing ceremony and expressed his appreciation for their second generous donation. Mr. Sanjeev and Mr. Nuttapong have had a longstanding relationship, which was initiated through the introduction provided by Emeritus Prof. Dennes Bergado.

Additionally, Mr. Sanjeev extended his thanks to Dr. Geoff for his exceptional work in upgrading the GTE laboratory. Dr. Geoff’s dedication and expertise have played a vital role in transforming the laboratory into a cutting-edge facility.

AIT President Prof. Kazuo Yamamoto expressed his warmest appreciation and gratitude for the continued support. He emphasized the importance of the GTE laboratory in providing students, researchers, and faculty under the GTE program with state-of-the-art facilities and resources to further their studies and creating valuable contributions to the field. This positive gesture is a step forward in revitalizing AIT and this kind of support is very prestigious.

Prof. Sangam Shrestha, Dean School of Engineering & Technology thanked Mr. Nuttapong for the generous support to upgrade the GTE laboratory. This contribution showcases the unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the GTE Laboratory. He further expressed kind interest on potential future collaborations between AIT and CeTeau through internships or job opportunities for AIT students.

Dr. Kuo-Chieh Chao (Geoff), Associate Professor in GTE and CIE Head of Department thanked Mr. Nuttapong for the generous donation. The first donation by CeTeau was provided a couple of years back and the previous donation was used to upgrade the laboratory testing equipment. This second donation was mentioned to be utilized for the second phase of the project. In addition, Dr. Geoff thanked Prof. Bergado for introducing CeTeau to GTE.

Mr. Nuttapong mentioned that his company has had a long relationship with AIT since 1996. He acknowledges the pivotal role that AIT has played in the success of his company. As many GTE graduates from AIT are now working in CeTeau, he expressed keen happiness in providing future support and further collaborations with AIT.

Emeritus Prof. Dr. Dennes Bergado expressed his happiness in the events whereby AIT receives donations from an industry partner such as CeTeau. This collective effort truly exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and the positive impact that can be achieved when academia and industry join forces together.
