Since inception in 1959, Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) has become a premier international institution for higher education in science, engineering and technology. The Institute promotes technological up gradation and sustainable development in the Asia-Pacific region, through higher education, research, and outreach. AIT has become leading regional post graduate institution and is actively working with public and private sector partners throughout the region and with top universities of the world. Recognized for its multinational, multicultural ethos, the institute operates as a self-contained international community at its campus located 40 km (25 miles) north of downtown Bangkok, Thailand.

AIT has become leading regional post graduate institution and is actively working with public and private sector partners throughout the region and with top universities of the world. To date, more than 1600 professionals of Bangladesh have been graduated from AIT, who are occupying key positions in public and private sectors in Bangladesh and abroad. The Bangladesh Chapter of the AIT Alumni Association (AITAA-B) is a non-political and non-profit organization. It continues to maintain the bonds of friendship among the fellow AITans developed at AIT. Association meetings, Various types of gathering, AIT Day programs, Dinner discussion meeting with various groups (such as academics, business, etc.), enable AITAA-B to create togetherness, friendship, trust and the common feelings about society, economics, technology and development of the country. It maintains liaison with AIT mother chapter and other country chapters.

There are innumerous achievements of the members of AITAA-Bangladesh chapter in various fields in Bangladesh and abroad. A broad numbers of the alumni are at very high positions in the government, academics and public & private sectors. During the past years, AIT Alumni of Bangladesh showed remarkable successes and triumphs in different disciplines in home and abroad. They have got records of outstanding professional and technical achievements with high standard of integrity. Many of them have been honored by national and international award for distinguished services to the profession and the community at large. They have also demonstrated notable attention, participation, and contribution to activities of AITAA National Chapter. All these enhanced the reputation of AIT in a significant way. The chapter has shown that members have the capabilities to meet the challenges in this developing technological world and have know-how to be in the forefront of change. There are exemplary achievements, successes and triumphs of AIT Alumni-Bangladesh Chapter in the broader spectrum of national and international arena.

AIT is transforming with its new development program. We, AIT alumni of Bangladesh Chapter unequivocally express our whole hearted support for the critical needs to revitalize AIT. It calls for focus, support, and commitment. For last 61 years, AIT has been a shining example of international higher education in Asia, continually evolving to help graduates contribute to their communities through technology and management. Presently, AIT is more inspired than ever to accomplish more as it moves forward. So, it is time to look ahead to what kind of university will AIT become beyond this time, and to what resources it needs on this future journey. AIT alumni should be prepared to work and partner with AIT to help meet these critical needs. As AIT Alumni, we intend to heed this call and take up this challenge with firm commitment and passion and dedication for a transformed AIT.

The recent changes at AIT and in the region present AITAA with even big challenges. As a Chapter, we will need to focus our contributions to our Institute and strengthen our Association with greater participation and more activities that are common to benefit our memberships. The AITAA-B will continue to grow into a stronger and more influential and exceptional network with the continued support of all concerned.
